About
The Edinburgh Genome Foundry specialises in the modular, fully automated robotic assembly of DNA constructs. It offers end-to-end design, construction and validation of genetic material for academic and industrial customers, building and modifying DNA up to approximately one megabase pair in length.
The facility is host-agnostic — supporting bacterial, yeast, plant and mammalian cell chassis — and is built for the projects that defeat manual work: long constructs above 5 kilobases, assemblies with large numbers of parts, and combinatorial libraries. It also develops and shares open-source software for DNA design and laboratory automation.
